Travertine at home: three small pieces that bring instant calm
You do not need a travertine floor to bring the material into your home. A lamp or a side table is enough.
Travertine is the material of the moment, and we understand why. The soft beige tone with tiny holes feels warm, a little Mediterranean and never cold like white marble. A travertine floor or worktop is a big investment. Luckily you can also start small.
Why it works
Travertine has a texture you see up close and feel from a distance. It combines with almost everything warm: oak, linen, terracotta, brass. And it makes a room calmer, because the eye lingers on the texture for a moment.
1. A table lamp with a stone base
The easiest start. A travertine base with a linen shade looks good on a sideboard or windowsill and gives warm light in the evening. During the day it is a sculpture.
2. A side table
Next to the sofa or an armchair. Choose a round shape; it softens a room full of straight furniture.
3. A dish or vase
On the coffee table with a few branches, or simply empty. Here too: one piece is enough. Three travertine pieces in one view soon looks like a showroom.
